Styrene, also known as vinylbenzene, is an aromatic unsaturated olefin organic compound with the chemical formula C₈H₈. It is colorless or light yellow oily flammable liquid with characteristic aromatic odor. Insoluble in water, soluble in ethanol, diethyl ether and other organic solvents. Prone to self-polymerization under ambient exposure. It is the most important basic monomer raw material for synthetic resin and synthetic rubber industry.

Primarily used for polymer material synthesis and manufacturing such as polystyrene, ABS resin, styrene-butadiene rubber, unsaturated polyester, coatings and adhesives.

Keep away from ignition and heat sources, prohibit high-temperature sun exposure. Store separately from oxidizing agents and acids, strictly no mixed storage. Keep containers sealed to prevent air ingress and polymerization deterioration. Equip with explosion-proof electrical devices, firefighting equipment and leak emergency response facilities.
